The time of year between summer and fall is a time of transition.

TRANSITIONS

Opening Reception Saturday, Aug. 27, 5 - 7 pm

Two extraordinary shows of original art comprise this show. The new Jeannie and John Fuller Gallery is filled with stunning works of art by regional artists Michelle Goodall, Ann Gethen, LaClaire Skaggs, Al Clymer, Kathy Hill, Lee Wolff, Paul Foster, Walter Ray Jones, Dennis Hill, David Hyten, Pat Newell, Renterra Fauth, Phyllis Smith and Cindy Jones.

 

Lynn Chapman has filled the original gallery with her energetic and colorful pastels.

Many guests attended the opening reception, voting for their personal favorites. Five ribbons were awarded, two to Dennis Hill for a first place tie, and two to Lynn Chapman for a three way tie with Lee Wolff for second place.

Lynn is a self-taught artist, having refined her skills through workshops with Daniel Sprick, Leslie B. de Mille, Albert Handell and a Cowboy-Artists-of-America juried workshop.  She has taught art at Colorado Mountain College and the Sangre de Cristo Arts Center.  In her previous career as a psychiatric occupational therapist she wrote an award-winning article on the Art of Art Therapy as a tool for emotional healing.
 
Her favorite medium is pastel because of its versatility, pure colors and ability to convey softness, light, and the spiritual aspects of mankind and nature.  Her artwork has won numerous awards. She is an associate member of the Pastel Society of America.
