What is painting en plein air? Artists take their easels, paints, and other gear outdoors to paint along roadsides, in the mountains, the gardens and in towns to capture landscapes, figures, and architecture in their natural elements.

· Workshop -- A 6 hour plein air painting workshop with Coni Grant will be held Thurs. June 14.  The workshop fee is $75 and only 10 students will be accepted. Students in the workshop may register for Plein Air Painting Friday and Saturday for a discounted fee of $10. Paintings done in the workshop may not be included in judging but may be offered for sale in the show June 16.

· Registration fee: $20  ·  $15 for early registration--register by June 9.

· Check in/register 9 -10 am Friday June 15, at SPACe, 132 W. Ryus, La Veta.

· Artists’ get-together – wine and buffet – Friday, June 15 at SPACe, 5:30-7:30 pm.

· Maps of scenic points of interest

· Cash awards - $100 1st place, $75 2nd place, $50 3rd place.

· Critique of artists' works by awards judge Coni Grant, 4 - 5 pm June 16.

· A show and reception will be held June 16, 5 - 7 pm. Artists may take their work after 7 pm.
